Bartertown – “Fire on the Lighthouse” [Self Released]
Fire on the Lighthouse is a brooding and atmospheric guitar ballad that packs a lyrical and musical punch. It’s the title track from the debut EP from Bartertown, a new act from Auckland, New Zealand. The song was mastered by Joe Lambert in New York, who has worked with artists from The National to Moby. Bartertown’s EP combines the power of heavy music with the character-filled storytelling of the singer-songwriter.
Body and sound depth that blend perfectly with a good dose of fluidity and an intense sound impact are the main details that make listening pleasant.
The guitars mix well, enhancing the listening. It is not the usual trivial proposal, not even obvious, although the genre is now full of more or less valid proposals (and we can certainly put this among the valid ones).
“Fire on the Lighthouse” amazes positively for simplicity and naturalness managing to involve and drag the listener towards dimensions made of intense and positive vibrations.
