BEYOND THE STYX, take the time to think before you act

Riding across Europe since 2011, BTSTYX is inspired by a dark and violent musical universe. At the crossroads between Hardcore, Metal & Thrash Crossover , the French quintet has unleashed the crowds on more than 180 gigs, alongside renowned bands such as: Terror, First blood, Nasty, Malevolence, Cold Hard Truth, Broken Teeth, Alea Jacta Est … Following the release of his new studio effort: “ SENTENCE ” (recorded & produced by Christian Donaldson: Despised Icon, Get the Shot , Cryptopsy …), BTSTYX expresses a manifest, authentic, incisive desire to open minds to the evils that have been gnawing away for too long a most decadent modern society. “Is our history an eternal beginning?” That’s the challenge of Beyond the Styx: Embody the flapping of a butterfly wing. As weak as it may be… Being part of the storm of change!
Hit the road without counting the distance that separates the gig of tonight to the next, support each local scene so that Hardcore music exists today and tomorrow, rally the people to defend respect for difference, invite everyone to think about the drift of the values of our contemporary society so that our reality of today does not become our new Hell of tomorrow. Armed with a hardened line-up, BTSTYX drives the point by highlighting with « SENTENCE » the maddest torrent of live energy!

Musicwebzine – Hi there, first of all, tell us something about the band
Emile – Hi, I’m Emile vocalist of BEYOND THE STYX. We come from France and play Metallic Hardcore since 2011. We had release 3 LP & 1 EP. We did 180 gigs accross 8 countries in Europe.

Musicwebzine – Which is the main theme of your album ?
Emile – Our new album SENTENCE mainly evokes the question of “Earth crisis” from various angles : sociological, geopolitical, philosophical…

Musicwebzine – What about the cover and the title of your album ?
Emile – Our new album is called “SENTENCE” because like the name of our group, this name is subject to different interpretations rather optimistic or pessimistic according to everyone’s opinion.
The cover of this album illustrates in its own way our youth prey to its own demons. Namely, will I fight against them or will I allow myself to be dominated by them to build the world of tomorrow?

Musicwebzine – Which bands has influenced your sound ?
Emile – Mainly old school bands I would say… Bands that have a studio sound in line with their live sound.
Our musical influences are relatively diverse, but if I had to choose only 3, I would say: Hatebreed, Knocked Loose & Get The Shot.

Musicwebzine – Do you think you can still live only on music?
Emile – Of course not. And that has never been the case. We don’t claim to become a group 100% made up of professionals, one day perhaps…
But for now, concentrating on the promotion of this new album of which we are particularly proud is our priority.
