Boogeyman unveils Spine-Chilling new album “Rotten Leaves”
Horror punk rock band Boogeyman is set to release their highly anticipated follow-up album, ‘Rotten Leaves,’ on September 27, 2024. This new record continues the dark, eerie tale introduced in their self-titled debut, inviting listeners deeper into their nightmarish world.
A Haunting Story Continues
‘Rotten Leaves’ picks up the original narrative laid out in Boogeyman’s acclaimed first album. The story follows Ezekiel, a man blind from birth whose world has always been shrouded in darkness. His journey, filled with supernatural battles and eerie encounters, reaches its climax in this latest release.
The Story:
Blind at birth, darkness is Ezekiel’s world. His greatest fear and only friend. He’s felt it all his life. A presence. The Phantom. Inside and out, he searches. Trapped in his grandfather’s cellar the night of his funeral, eyes bleeding, he scratches the walls unconscious, wakes beneath the moon, and sees. The world is on fire. Death is everywhere. Everything. Learning the Devil’s Song has allowed him to help trapped spirits move on to the afterlife. He awakens with an unsettled feeling after his supernatural battle with the Demon of Whisper Creek. Something is wrong. Very wrong. ‘Rotten Leaves’ concludes the story set forth by our first full-length album. Tune in to discover the final phase of “The Devil’s Song”.

Biography
Boogeyman originated from the heavy metal band Sanitation Squad, featuring Jason Payne and Ryan Zellmer. The project began with the song “The Dead Are Here,” which evolved into a distinct entity from Sanitation Squad. Jason and Ryan’s creative synergy led to the formation of Boogeyman, with a clear vision of combining literary horror with horror-themed punk rock music.
Boogeyman’s debut album set the stage for their eerie saga, and ‘Rotten Leaves’ promises to deliver a powerful conclusion. The Zellmer brothers’ background in horror music and punk rock influences like TSOL, Danzig, and Misfits shines through in their unique sound.
Ryan Zellmer explains, “We wanted to bring our listeners into a dark world of our creation. With Boogeyman, we combine literary horror with horror-themed punk rock music. Our first self-titled album lays the scene and ‘Rotten Leaves’ wraps up the saga.”
