Deadlock Crew – “No Way Out” [Ghost Record]

Let’s start from the end: No Way Out is definitely a good album, the second effort after more than two years from their debut for the Italian Deadlock Crew.

The band pushes on different hard legacies, going from classic metal (with a strong choral flavor) to slightly alternative and more “rocking” incursions. This ability to put their foot in different situations is one of the many strengths of the band that manages to “build” an album with soul, heart and patience. No Way Out, therefore, is a powerful hybrid, easy to listen to (for those who love good old metal from the 80s/90s).

Deadlock Crew do nothing to be immune to the charm of Iron Maiden, but the great thing is that they sound as if the latter did not have “the duty” to proceed with their standard protocol. So you clearly recognize their influence, but at the same time it becomes clear how their variety makes them “special”. It can be said that the album does everything to keep your head free from any thought, heavy and solid in the sounds but with a strong lightness ready to act behind your back, with hands drawn as best as possible in the brain matter.

The album has nine songs, all “full” and willing to grab their deserved slice of attention, the duration of 46 minutes, will try to put a few spokes in your wheels, but if you don’t think about it too much it won’t become a problem.
