Hranice Abyss releases the videoclip for the song “Pathfinder”
Hranice Abyss seeks to unite the visceral with the aesthetic beauty, from pure catharsis to sublimation. Inspired by these concepts, the band released their debut EP, titled ‘Aphagy’, released this year. And as the last promotional material for the EP, they release the video for the single “Pathfinder” through SLAM WORLDWIDE.
“’Pathfinder’ revolves around the search for resolutions in life. Sometimes we feel stuck in situations that we struggle to get out of, but something keeps dragging us into it and we feel it’s impossible to leave it behind. It could be family, love, relationships, friends, work, addictions – they could all relate to this song. The story revolves around a love relationship that is degrading because the two parties cannot understand each other. The location represents a mental labyrinth and the two lovers trying to figure out how to escape this relationship. The video is about the pain of seeing these parts in moments of total disconnection from each other, it’s about the process of leaving the end of the relationship”, concludes the band.
The fast paced rhythm and complex riffs can bring a feeling of anxiety where the lyrical themes are related. The video was conceived, directed and edited by the band itself, but the footage was by Guilherme Froes from Porduzip agency who made the video “Flawless Oblivion”.
With several influences, from The Black Dahlia Murder, Cattle Decaptation, Necrophagist, Death, Lamb of God and Slayer, mixing with more modern visions of bands like Meshuggah, Slipknot and Decapitated, and contemplating productions by Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree, Hranice Abyss is the new bet of Death Metal/Deathcore and delivers a professional, modern work with reflective lyrics, which bring to philosophical questions from the cultural industry of Adorno and Horkheimer, from Nietzsche’s nihilism and free life, from the liquid relations of Bauman and of Baudrillard’s simulations.
In August 2020, Brazilian guitarist Henrique De Fina and Brazilian vocalist Vic Ferreira joined forces to create Hranice Abyss, a modern and artistic project that believes it is possible to produce a lot, with quality and with little resource. The band gains notoriety for being DIY (Do It Yourself), producing, directing and recording all their material, from the videos to the EP. From the beginning, the idea was to do everything and have control to present a project with quality and professionalism.
“Pathfinder” is the band’s third single, and the last to promote the first EP of their career. “Violation Of Human Condition” is the single that marked the band’s debut in the music market, premiering on SLAM WORLDWIDE channel.
