KX9000 is back with his fantastic universe between jazz-funk and disco-house. Behind this alias that one would believe straight out of a Japanese animated film, we find Kerim Ben Mustapha who has established himself since 2018 as “one of the most remarkable producers of the moment“ (Mixmag) with no less than 4 EPs on Pont Neuf, in Germany on Blaq Numbers or in Italy on Apparel Music. He returns with a new EP 2L84ME coming on June 25th which explores a new neo-soul facet of the musical palette of the Parisian producer, while remaining faithful to his recognizable style.
In the meantime, he shares today a first track with nu-jazz inspirations “Hearing My Name” featuring Tour-Maubourg and the French singer ddöve. “It’s a slightly psyche-like gospel jam as tenderly catchy as it is joyfully melancholic, recorded in one afternoon at the Villette 45 studio with my buddy Tour-Maubourg and ddöve whose voice magnifies the song” explains Kerim.
