Loïc Demarest, Pop Rock from France

Originally from Longwy, Loïc always loved music since I was little.
When he got the first guitar at 18, the idea was to quickly learn a few chords to be able to accompany the texts he was writing. He always wanted to compose.
After putting music aside for a few years, he got back into it by playing with other people, before trying to produce his own music in a home studio.

Musicwebzine – Hi, who are Loïc DEMAREST ?
I am french, I am 45 years old and I come from Nancy. I have always been passionate about musci and especially the guitar. I play for over 25 years. Life circumstances led me to put music aside for a long time. I got back into it a while ago, playiing for fun with friends. I then wanted to train in mixing to produce my tracks. A little over a year ago, I set myself the challenge of releasing 10 new tracks in a year. The song « Les temps ont changé » is my 9th single. The 10th will be released on June 27th, to conclude this incredible challenge. I’ll then release an album, with two tracks aready recorded.

Musicwebzine – Tell us about your latest release !
« Les temps ont changé » is a universal song that speaks to everyone because we have all thought or xwill think one day that times have changed. And they will change again, as I sing in the song. On this song, there are guitar and harmonica with riffs that complement and respond each other. I produce the entire piece, from writing and composition to arrangement, mixing and mastering.

Musicwebzine – Which guest would you like get for your next album ?
On my next album, I would dream of having Ben Harper or Gaëtan Roussel as a guest.

Musicwebzine – Which bands influenced your style ?
My music has several influences. My first musical vibes come from 90s rock, with Nirvana, Guns & Roses, … I also always really liked Noir Désir. I then learned to discover french poprock songs with artists like Roussel, Raphaël and Renaud, whose lyrics I particularly appreciate. I would say, however that my favorite artist and the one who influences me the most today is Ben Harper.

There are several stile on my music : rock, poprock, « variétés françaises », folkrock

The cover of « Les temps ont changé » shows an image reminiscent of the past with a man running as if to catch up with the passing of time.

Musicwebzine – How is the music scene in your country ?
I think in France, there are a lot of scene music : rap, variété, pop and also a little of rock.
