Nia John – “Faster Than The Speed of Night”
Wolf Storm, rock covers band, was formed by Nia John (Singer/Manager), and launched in the Summer of 2019 in The Piccadilly pub, Caerphilly, during the Big Cheese festival weekend. This was a fantastic gig where Nia was supported by professional musicians and funds were raised for the charity, Asthma UK. Nia has since built up a team of committed talented musicians. We are currently gigging across S-Wales.
All band members are very experienced and love the joy of performing covers from some of our Rock heroes. We cover classic and modern rock including artists such as Metallica, Black Sabbath, Guns N Roses, Pink, Fleetwood Mac, Pat Benatar, Tina Turner, ACDC, Blink 182, Foo Fighters, etc. We have a general pub set which is suitable for all audiences and then a harder rock set which is suitable for rock venues
Something which is unique to us as a band is we adopt/sponsor a wolfdog called, Zebb, at the Wales Ape and Monkey Sanctuary (WAMS). It is fantastic how music can help charitable causes and it is good to give something back from the enjoyment we get from music.
Nia has performed with the BBC Welsh Orchestra, recorded at Abbey Road and performed at the BBC Proms, London, when she was a member of Rock Choir. She has been a solo artist in a variety show in her twenties mainly performing Bonnie Tyler and Meat Loaf songs around S-Wales. Nia has a high-profile vocal coach, Tanya Harrison, whom she describes as opening up a whole new world of learning. Nia also had piano lessons.
Nia released a 6th album in 2020, recorded at Shabbey Road studios, Caerphilly, produced by Al Steele. 11 songs were released on major music platforms such as Spotify, Deezer etc. She had over 1 million listeners Worldwide on radio to a cover of Total Eclipse such as in USA, Canada, Chile, Spain, France, Germany, Australia, Mexico, Netherlands, etc and was interviewed by Wynn Thomas on Radio Tircoed, Scottish Radio K107fm Graeme Logan, Chat and Spin radio and The Feel Good Station several times. In 2021 Nia released more covers such as Holding Out For a Hero, which was featured as Rainbow Island retro game sound track. More recently Nia has recorded original songs with Al Steele of Shabbey Road Studios, such as Believe In Yourself, You Promised Me A Tomorrow, Don’t Let Go, Night Stalker, Rise to the Challenge, etc.
“Faster Than The Speed of Night”, its a song full of details that make listening more unique than rare, creating something truly original, that gift a powerfull sound and full of energy. Scratchy guitars, and a general sound faster with power details, that made a song dinamic and full of powerfull.
For lovers of the genre, Alt. Rock, it is certainly a good simple, direct proposal that can be listened to right from the start and, increasingly intriguing, leads to the finale with ease and pleasantness.
