St. Morris Sinners – “Welcome to Viagra”
St. Morris Sinners formed in Adelaide, South Australia in late 2011. Lead by Lyricist and frontman – Stephen Johnson, Guitarist – Django Rowe and Drummer and Percussionist – Angus Mason, they have woven together the musical genres of: Punk Jazz, Art Rock & Alternative Rock creating their own unique sound. The Sinners have played alongside notable musicians/bands over the years such as: Tex Perkins, Modcon, Mark Arm of Mudhoney, Spencer P. Jones, Kim salmon, Dave Graney, King Khan, David Liebe Hart and Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds.
To date they have released: a self titled EP (2013) four albums: For Lease (2014) Songs About Insects (2016) Zbilanc (2022) and Nightmares (2024) a single: 80 Hours A Week (2018) and Best of Vinyl through French record label Beast Records (2019).
Sinners were voted peoples choice band at French Rock festival Binic Folk & Blues 2019 and since then have played throughout Australia to growing crowds and internationally. As of 2024 they have based themselves in Melbourne/Naarm.
Body and sound depth that blend perfectly with a good dose of fluidity and an intense sound impact are the main details that make listening pleasant. The guitars mix well, roughensing the atmosphere thus enhancing the listening.
It is not the usual trivial proposal, not even obvious, although the genre is now full of more or less valid proposals. “Welcome to Viagra” amazes positively for simplicity and naturalness managing to involve and drag the listener towards dimensions pleasant.
