Chrome Sky’s new album, “Clouds,” is now available at all major digital stores. The album is also available through Ghost Record and Crashsound Distribution. The new album also includes the single “Who Am I,” for which a music video was created.
Chrome Sky is the result of a decade-long collaboration between the multifaceted singer-songwriter Paolo Miano and the creative composer/programmer Mario Ferrarese. Their goal was to create a new genre that blends metal, industrial, trance, prog, goth, and many other influences into a unique and unexplored landscape, with the voice as the only human element against a fully programmed instrumental backdrop (including guitars).
Chrome Sky’s music portrays the alienated existential condition of contemporary man with a cold and merciless gaze, forcing the listener to confront the magma of impulses boiling in the depths of the human soul, where rationality is supplanted, good and evil are annihilated, the sacred and madness coexist, and human destiny is forged, thus perceiving the painful toil of existence.
Track by Track
THE HUMAN MACHINE: This opening instrumental track is an industrial metal piece with prog overtones and revolves around the relationship between man and machine, one of the band’s founding themes. A voice in the background sings, “…and the clouds cleared from his sight,” hence the album’s title.
SHIFT: This second track opens with a jazzy double bass arpeggio, then explodes into a grunge riff with distorted vocals and a solemn, harmonized chorus that addresses man’s ability to withstand life’s adversities.
STONE BREED/SOUL EATERS: A hypnotic bassline and haunting sound effects set the mood for Paolo to recite some verses written by Mario on the degradation of human civilization. A haunting chorus is the icing on the cake.
SOULQUAKE: The album’s most aggressive track expresses the common man’s fear of losing his illusory stability, while life is merely a flux of changes we should align ourselves with.
BRAINWORK: A tense interweaving of syncopated riffs, mechanical pulses, and whispered mantras shapes this claustrophobic immersion into the hyperactive mind of modern man. This instrumental track alternates neurotic verses with an explosive, cathartic chorus, reflecting the struggle to tame intrusive thoughts and regain clarity in a world that never stops buzzing.
WHO AM I?: A song about the search for identity unfolds with an asymmetrical structure, catchy riffs, distorted melodies, and a haunting chorus that will stick in your head forever.
…AND THE CLOUDS RADICED OUT OF HIS SIGHT: A whispered epilogue lasting just a few seconds that concludes the album.
