Enrico Benvenuto – “Transition” [Fusion Core Records]

Debut album for guitarist Enrico Benvenuto, already known as guitarist of Dammercide. This album is entitled “Transition”, an entirely instrumental work, where all the technical caliber of the guitarist and his traveling companions (Marco Portalupi on bass and Massimo Balanzino on drums) emerges.

The album certainly reveals itself as an excellent example of progressive metal but where multiple styles and moods converge in this genre, resulting from the first listens to be a multifaceted album which tries to embellish the term progressive with pleasant digressions and also tries to hit with a rather intimate and personal, as revealed by some almost “unplugged” tracks.

The technicalities are therefore present but do not take over, and Enrico’s guitar is warm and concentrates on heartfelt, never cold interpretations, which demonstrate how even a record based on the electric guitar can give great emotions.

It is therefore certainly recommended listening for those who appreciate great guitarists, including the more modern and metal ones, but in general this is a very classy rock album that can take root in many and varied listeners. First album, first center. Not bad!
