Mystericon was formed in Ufa in early 2017 by guitarist Oleg Stalker and keyboardist Aletheia.
The band’s genre is gothic heavy metal with symphonic arrangements. Mystericon focuses on expressive melodies performed by a combination of baritone, soprano and extreme vocals combined with heavy guitar riffs and symphonic arrangements, which provides virtually unlimited possibilities for reflecting musical ideas. Mystericon’s music combines the harshness of guitar riffs with the somber lyricism of keyboards and melodic vocal lines.
“Echoes Of Eternyty” the new album released for the Italian label Ghost Record, fits into the Progressive Metal landscape with a focus on compositional variety and sonic exploration. The thirteen tracks, spread across over sixty minutes of music, construct a path in which the metal component constantly interacts with synth textures, sampling, and cinematic influences, lending the whole an atmosphere that at times recalls fantasy imagery without ever becoming predominant.
The songwriting alternates bold riffs with more melodic and complex sections, developing structures that avoid repetitiveness and maintain interest throughout the album. The dynamic shifts are well-calibrated, while the harmonic openings contribute depth to the songs, enhancing the project’s progressive soul.
On the performance level, a solid and precise rhythm section emerges, with a powerful drum kit that effectively supports the frequent metrical variations. The guitar lines intertwine without losing their incisiveness, and the lyrical vocals and well-placed guitar solos enrich the listening experience, lending further dynamics and power to the album.
Despite moving within a genre rich in established references, “Echoes of Eternity” manages to express its own identity thanks to a convincing balance between technique, melody, and sonic impact. With this new album, Mystericon confirm their excellent potential, highlighting a clear artistic vision and offering exciting prospects for future productions.
