Splintered Throne a majestic and vivacious band from Oregon
The traditional metal powerhouse from Portland, Oregon, are beginning their next chapter by unleashing the high-octane record The Greater Good of Man. Refining their classic metal sound fused with progressive hard rock and striking melodies, SPLINTERED THRONE have created a majestic and vivacious release. We have made a good chat with Jason “Jmo” Moser – guitarist/ songwriter of the band.
Musicwebzine – Hi there, first of all, tell us something about the band.
Jmo: Well, we’ve been around for a minute or two. Splintered Throne’s high energy performances have captivated audiences on the West Coast of the US for over a decade. The line-up of Lisa Mann /vocals, J~Mo/Guitar, Matt Dorado/Guitar, Kris Holboke/Drums and Brian Bailey/bass, have refined the bands’ sounds to something very unique; a combination of traditional metal, progressive and hard rock. We love to play for our fans, make new fans, and tell epic metal stories along the way.
Musicwebzine – What is the main theme of your album ?
Jmo: No real direct theme, just good traditional metal with lots of dual guitars, excellent vocals, great hooks, and a tight rhythm section.
Musicwebzine – What about the cover and the title of your album ?
Jmo: The cover concept came from our bass player Brian. It speaks to the fact that we are all on this spinning globe together, and we really should figure out how to all survive on it together so it doesn’t implode. Ya’know, do something for the greater good of man!
Musicwebzine – Which bands have influenced your sound?
Jmo: Too many to name! The big ones I think we as a band can all agree on: Iron Maiden, Accept, Rush, Dio (Rainbow-era, Sabbath AND solo), and anything of any genre that has a good hook and melody.
Musicwebzine – Do you think you can still live only on music?
Jmo: Absolutely!
Musicwebzine – That’s all!! Greet our readers with a message!
Jmo: Thank you for reading, and please go like, friend and subscribe on all our social media! We have Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Reverbnation and our official site at www.splinteredthrone.com.
