Planepacked streams new album "Transactinides"

Transactinides, the sophomore album from the metal and electronic fusing outfit PLANEPACKED, ventures further into realms of experimentation and the extreme. Delivering the thundering heavy and soaring melodic bursts, Transactinides is a charismatic musical experience.

Transactinides is the epic new album from the powerful project PLANEPACKED. Driven by a desire to push further personal musical boundaries, Transactinides is the first full-length release from the band since frontwoman Jessica Kagan’s gender transition and explores the experience of recreating oneself. Having quickly grown into something bigger than had been originally planned, the new album fuses allusions to physics, science, and technology with her evolving views on gender and sexuality.
Drawing musical influences from the likes of AUTECHRE, IGORRR, DEVIN TOWNSEND, and SUSUMU HIRASAWA, the first three tracks on Transactinides are also inspired in various ways by Jessica’s urban fantasy fiction series, Endian Project. Opening the album with the fully immersive and melodic “Azure (Her Clarion Call)”, entwining clean and harsh vocal styles aptly portrays a dramatic narrative of the two characters caught in a battle of love and lust. “The Demon Core” introduces a dark mood with a mixture of 11/8 and 9/8 time signatures contributing to the eerie impact. While “Red Star Succubus” brings a different side to PLANEPACKED’s sound with a slower pace, and gloomy atmosphere.
Transactinides is a thrilling, mesmerizing voyage through carefully cultivated electronics, thundering metal instrumentation and sheer musical ingenuity. PLANEPACKED opens the threshold to a universe of soundscapes, melodies and explorations of the human existence.
