Deadlock Crew, keep on rocking! Rock always wins!
Deadlock Crew was born in Italy, Trieste, back in 1999
A solid metal band who kept in time the same line up, energy and enthusiasm for hard music. Lorenzo and Giuliano, singer/guitarist and drummer, with their experience grown in many local music bands found a perfect feeling with Yure (guitar) and Daniele (bass guitar).
The project is to mash up the different musical genres that influence theyr own music since the begining as thrash metal, alternative metal and hard rock.
Immediately after the set up of the band, they published a promo-cd called “Lobotomized people” that got a lot of positive reviews on the magazines of the time and pushd the band to remain active on the territory with many gigs, events, festivals and moto rallies.
Live performances, made of “enthusiasm, watts and sweat”, soon became the addiction of the band that leaved out recording and studios.
The COVID-19’s year forced the four guys to change course and to dedicate theirself to developing and recording new material for the 2021 album: “Look down on me”
Tracks are recorded in Trieste and mixed in New york City Zero Point Energy Recording Studio by Lorenzo Gavinelli.
Production is made by Lorenzo, the singer, and Lorenzo Gavienlli.
This work leads finally the band to sign a contract with Ghost Label Records!
Deadlock Crew are very proud to announce the relase of “Look down on me” on 27th Febraury 2021
MWZ: Hi there, first of all, who are Deadlock Crew
Deadlock Cew: Crew was born in Italy, Trieste, back in 1999We are a solid metal band who kept in time the same line up, energy and enthusiasm for hard music throughout the years. Lorenzo and Giuliano, singer/guitarist and drummer, who gained their experience by playing in many local music bands found a perfect match with Yure (guitar) and Daniele (bass guitar). The project is to mash up the different musical genres that influenced our own music since the begining such as thrash metal, alternative metal and hard rock.Immediately after founding the band, we published a promo-cd called “Lobotomized people” which recived many positive reviews on the magazines. This pushd us to remain active on the territory through many gigs, events, festivals and moto rallies.Live performances, made of “enthusiasm, watts and sweat”, soon became our addiction so we dedicated ourselves to playing covers instead of recording in studios. The COVID-19’s year forced us to change course and to dedicate ourselves to developing and recording new material for the 2021 album: “Look down on me”Basically we are four friends who have been playng together since 1999
MWZ: “Look Down On Me” ! Tell us something about this album !
Deadlock Cew: Tracks are recorded in Trieste and mixed in New york City Zero Point Energy Recording Studio by Lorenzo Gavinelli.Production is made by Lorenzo, the singer, and Lorenzo Gavienlli. We belive it’s a metal album played with energy, we wanted to convey our adrenaline in these nine tracks. Our music is inspired by thrash metal, hard/rock and alternative metal. In our lyrics we address issues such as the fragility of the current society, sick loves, violence and jealousy, the emotions and the adrenaline that a judoka feels before a match, the madness to which tinnitus can lead, social network abuse and its effects on loneliness. Now we are in Ghost Label Record’s roster and we are very proud of this!
MWZ: Would you like put a Keyboards for your next album ?
Deadlock Cew: We loved hammond in the album “Soul survivor” of Gorefest for instance, but we don’t know if it could be the right sound for us.We don’t to exclude anything. Maybe not on every track, but trying something new with the right person could be a challange.
MWZ: Do you think that a Female Voice could improved ( attract ) the band’s image?
Deadlock Cew: Well, we are four men whose image was improved by wearing the masks, so a beautiful woman would definitely help …Apart from jokes, as we said for the keys we don’t exclude anything, it could be good to collaborate with a female voice for a song, it would be intresting also to write a song or to write a song for a female voice. But at the moment it’s more realistic to say we will probably not change the line-up anytime soon, as in these twenty+ years we found a perfect balance both among ourselves whithin the band, as well as with the band and our families and work.
MWZ: Why you decide a radical change from a tribute band to Do It Your Self Band ?
Deadlock Cew: It has been a while that we have been feeling incomplete by being “only” a cover band. Therefore we started again to write songs, to create our music and our groove according to our mood and to enjoy playing it. Unfortunately we couldn’t meet because of the COVID lockdown, but this allowed us to record “Look down on me”.
MWZ: You’re an Italian Band !! What do you think about Italian lyrics ?
Deadlock Cew: It’s weired, but sometimes it’s harder to write in your own leanguage rather than a foreing one. We did try but often lyrics didn’t sound as good. We wrote a song with italian lyrics, but when we chose tracks for the album we decided to not include it, as the album is already very diversified and this would have been something even more different on top.
MWZ: Which bands has influenced your sound ?
Deadlock Cew: There are many bands wich influenced our music from Metallica to Rage Agains The Machine, AC/DC, Machine Head, Mastodon but also Iron Maiden e many others.
MWZ: That’s all!! Greete our readers with a message!
Deadlock Cew: Don’t give up! This shit period will end, keep on rocking!!!! Rock always wins!!! Cheers!
